His death deeply shocked our family and the local community, raising questions about the complexities of mental health in young people – particularly as Tom presented as a happy young man who was popular, funny, handsome and with a family who loved him dearly. We decided to set up a charity in Tom’s memory to help other young people suffering from anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts and substance misuse causing mental health issues. We aim to raise awareness of mental health issues caused by substance misuse, particularly cocaine, to reduce the stigma and encourage open conversations.
